Mighty Ducks are ready to take the floor in their regional competition today in Trenton!


We hope to see you at the Havana School Talent Contest hosted by The Havana Music Boosters! This contest is open to any student who attends the Havana School District! There will be elementary, junior high, and high school age divisions. The public is invited to watch and tickets will be sold at the door. $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Children age 5 & under are free. Students who are participating in the contest do not need to pay admission. Entry forms will be sent home with elementary students. Students in the junior high and high school will be able to pick up an entry form from the office or can contact Mrs. Oest at soest@havana126.net. We cant wait to see our Havana students showcase their talent! Thank you for supporting music in our schools!

Mrs. Brady's class made Green Smoothies today using fresh bananas, frozen strawberries, milk vanilla yogurt, and fresh spinach. Delicious!





7th and 8th grade PE began their pickleball unit this week! We would like to thank the Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation for awarding us grant money to purchase these awesome pickleball 4-square courts for our students; they are loving them!

Havana schools dismiss early tomorrow, January 31, 2025 for an SIP day. Havana JH dismisses at 11:50, Havana HS at 11:55, and New Central Elementary at 12:05.

JV boys basketball travel to Macomb tonight for a JV ONLY game. The game will be played at Washington Street Gym in Macomb at the following address: 323 W Washington St. The gym is across the street from Macomb St. Paul School. Go Ducks!

High School Life Skills took a trip to Peoria Productions, a business that employs primarily individuals with disabilities. Our students were able to participate in work stations similar to task boxes used in the classroom. This has been one of their favorite trips so far!

Tomorrow kicks off "Week of Giving" at New Central Elementary. Students and staff will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to our community this week. We will be supporting Havana Food Pantry, the weekend backpack program, and the Havana Park District mini-pantries. Anyone who wants to help can drop their items off between 8:30 and 2:30 M-Th this week at the New Central office. Please, no expired items.

HHS boys basketball team finished their last winter session with the Lil' Hoopsters youth program through the Havana Park District today. Thank you to the parents for letting the players give back to the community! Thank you to the players for their hard work as well! Go Ducks!
