Students in Child Development have been painting pumpkins to resemble their favorite character from a childhood book. This was part of their literature unit. Students then read the book while showing off their pumpkins. Go Ducks!


The HHS Fall play is this weekend - Friday, 11/8, and Saturday, 11/9. On Friday, there will be one performance at 7 PM. On Saturday, there will be two performances at 1 PM and 6 PM. The play "Duck...Duck...Shoot" is a story about family, tradition, and how people treat each other. The plot is centered around one family and the annual rite of the duck hunt and will include lots of family humor with a positive message. The cost for tickets at the door to attend is the following: $7 per adult and $5 for students and seniors (55+). Come out and support those performing! Go Ducks!

5th grade girls fall in a close one to North Fulton, but the 6th grade win big in their final contest of the season. Great job this year ladies! Go Ducks!


Life Skills students have been learning about tomorrow's election the past few weeks through CNN10 and The World from A-Z. Today we held a mock election, where students voted for the president and some of their favorite foods!








After a tough competition, Mighty Ducks are walking away with a 2nd place finish by Samantha Redd and a 1st place finish from Caleb Blakeley, who will advance on to the state championship in December! Great day to be a duck! 🦆

Congratulations, Presley Frank & Madi Tomko on being selected for the District IV ILMEA Music Festival at WIU! To be selected, students must submit video auditions of the required prepared materials. Presley and Madi rehearsed at the festival all day on Saturday and performed in an outstanding concert last night! Congratulations on your musical accomplishments, Presley and Madi! FCA students stayed after school on Friday to paint their Bible Bags while watching Inside Out 2. They had so much fun! Go Ducks!

The HHS cross country season came to an end today at the sectional meet at Elmwood. The girls finished 18th overall. This group had a great year and should be proud of all that they accomplished.
Shoutout for today goes to Maddy Snedeker who worked through an injury to run a PR on a tough course. Go Ducks!


Halloween fun at New Central!










Mrs. Holtman's Child Development students worked very hard to write their Activity Lesson Plans to teach the children at the local daycare and Havana Pre-K. The students taught the children and then played with them. It was a fun time and they made quick friendships. Go Ducks!

New Central music students have had a fun Halloween week. Using glo sticks to tap out notes and beats, they danced to "Spooky, Spooky Skeletons", "Ghostbusters!", and other Halloween favorites.

Liam Lacelles and Hailey Thomas are the first students to read 5 Blue Stem Books this year. They will be able to vote for their favorite Blue Stem book in March. If they continue reading, they can earn the chance to participate in the Blue Stem Challenge, an ice cream sundae party, and lunch at the park.


It's always a good day to be a Duck, but especially fun on Halloween! I enjoyed handing out stickers this morning at New Central and talking with the kids.
