New Central Elementary School will host its annual Meet-the-Teacher Night on Wednesday, August 16 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Students should bring their school supplies that evening. Class lists will be posted after registration on Wednesday, August 9 after 3:00.
Havana Ducks softball players, Jaylynn Sarnes and Kaydi Miller, will be representing District 17 in the Little League World Series in Delaware tonight at 7 PM on ESPN+ against Hawaii. Tune it and cheer on two of our girls softball players and their team! Go Ducks!

As we approach the beginning of fall sports and extracurricular seasons, the Havana School District would like to notify fans planning to attend home district sporting events that the district will once again be selling athletic event passes during the 2023-24 school year. Passes can be purchased during school registration this week (Thursday, August 3rd) or anytime when school is in session at the Havana Junior High School office. These passes are a great option for those fans that plan to attend a large number of home events this year. See the attached flyer for prices and additional information. Reminder that these passes will be excluded from sanctioned tournaments by the IHSA, IESA, etc. that the district may host. School Registration for ALL schools will be held on Thursday Aug 3rd from 9:00am-1:00pm and 2:30pm-5:30pm in the Junior High Gym.
NEW THIS YEAR:
PE Uniforms will be provided for all incoming 7th and 9th graders at no charge(one uniform for each student, extras can be purchased). All other grades in need of uniforms can purchase them at registration for $5 a piece. Uniforms will also be available throughout the year in the school offices for purchase.
2023-24 Student Registration is this Thursday, August 3rd, in the Havana Junior High Cafeteria. Hours for Registration will be from 9am-1pm and 2:30pm-5:30pm. If you cannot make it to Registration on that day, the offices of each building will be open the following week on August 7th-11th for you to come and Register your child.
You may park in the JH parking lot between the building and the football field that day...the circle drive will be closed and the north entrance drive will also be closed due to construction.

Just a friendly reminder to all of those students planning on participating in an extracurricular activity this Fall (or sometime during the 2023-24 school year)... any student planning to participate in an extracurricular activity must have a valid physical on file in order to participate. Junior High Cross Country practice will begin tomorrow, Monday, July 31st, from 8:00-9:00 AM at the Havana Riverfront Park for any boys or girls that are entering 5th-8th grades that are interested. JH softball practice scheduled tomorrow, August 28, is canceled. Practice will resume next week, M-F from 8:30-10:00 a.m.

For any incoming 6th-8th grade girls interested in JH softball this fall, practices will begin today, Monday, July 24th, from 3:30-5:30 PM at the junior high softball field behind the Havana Junior High School. Practices will continue all week (July 24-28) from 3:30-5:30 PM. A short parent meeting will take place right after today's practice at the softball field starting at 5:30 PM.
